Title : Penjing in the future
創作主題:盆景的未來
Concept :
The artist invited ground staff, government
officers, magazine publishers, penjing lovers and the rest of the audience to
build a rectangular box. The box, constructed from aluminium wire and shuan
paper, surrounded a pending. A light was shone onto the penjing.
In Chinese art,
shuan paper is an important medium for Chinese painting and calligraphy.
Aluminium wire is an important tool in penjing creation. Light source is a form
of energy.
The finished
work symbolised the prospect of penjing in the future as the work involved not
only the artist but also the audience. Penjing lovers could fee free to adjust
the lamp to see variations of the silhouette. However, variations of the
silhouette was not the main point here. The main point was to understand our
behaviour as to how are we going to present penjing ? why are we
presenting it this way? what message do we want to convey? so as to break
through our fixed mentality in creating penjing and make an impact in the
Chinese art history.
The finished
work required the audience to rethink, redefine, seek meaning and view on what
is penjing art.
創作理念:
作者邀請展場的工作人員、政府官員、雜誌社編輯、盆景愛好者、觀眾等,一起完成由鋁線為骨架,外表黏上宣紙。把未做的盆景放在其中。邀請喜歡做盆景的愛好者,調整燈具的位置。
中國藝術最重要載體「宣紙」,水墨畫、書法等藝術都是透過這載體「宣紙」進行藝術創作。盆景創作中最重要的工具「鋁線」。光是能量的一種傳播方式。
眾人合作完成的作品,象徵盆景未來的前景,是由不同領域的眾人共同促成的。盆景愛好者,調整燈具的位置並察覺盆景的投影變化,但投影變化不是重點,重點是檢視自己的行為(我如何呈現盆景?為何我這樣呈現?我想表達什麼?.....),打破自己已經習慣的盆景觀念與做法,如何在中國文化藝術史上,留上重要的一筆。
整件作品也希望欣賞者從新思考,盆景藝術將被如何定義?如何被觀看?如何被賦予意義?
